Hey guys, it’s Kylie! For anyone who doesn’t know, I am about to show you how I beat my face. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of my makeup routine, starting from the brows and ending with a fully finished look.
1. Brows First
First, I start with my brows. I’ve already moisturized and put chapstick on. I never used to be good at brows—Jordan always used to do them for me—but then I kind of just learned what I like. I conceal right underneath to shape the brow and then apply it all over my lid as a base for my eyeshadow. I take my beauty blender and blend it out.
2. Eyeshadow and Crease Shaping
Next, I use face powder and eyeshadow. I’m using one of my new palettes. I go in with some of the matte shades for my crease, shaping my eye. Today, I’m keeping it simple because I have meetings, so I’m not trying to be too extra. I’ll add a little bit of this crazy shade under my brow bone to highlight.
3.Testing Products on Jordan
I test out most of my products on Jordan because we live together. I’m always like, “Jordan, I need you!” Everyone who comes to my house has red-tinted arms from swatches and shadows. Now, I’m going in with a darker brown shade to give a bit of a cut crease, focusing it right in the center.
4. My Favorite Summer Gold Eyeshadow
One of my favorite eyeshadows is this bright gold shade that’s perfect for summer. I take it on my finger because I find that works best sometimes. It’s a bright gold with a copper hint, and it’s definitely my favorite gold I’ve ever created.
5. Getting Creative with Orange Shimmer
I decided to do something fun and take “Juicy,” an orange shade with shimmer, and place it in my tear duct. After applying the eyeshadow, I use a makeup wipe to clean up any excess. This is why I always do my foundation after eyeshadow—so the fallout doesn’t ruin my base.
6. Mixing Foundation with Marc Jacobs Dew Drops
I’m obsessed with Marc Jacobs Fantasy Dew Drops. Since I have a spray tan right now, I’m doing four squirts and mixing it with my foundation. I clip my hair up, apply the mixture, and blend it all in. I like my freckles to show through, so I make sure to blend well to avoid a heavy look. I also make sure to blend the foundation down to my neck.
7. Makeup Memories with My Mom
I’ve always been really into makeup, and I think it started with watching my mom. She had two Chanel loose eyeshadow powders—baby blue and baby pink—and I’d put them all over my face. My mom always let me wear makeup, but my dad wasn’t a fan. I remember going to my sixth-grade class with purple eyeshadow and a cute crease, thanks to my mom!
8. Deciding on Makeup for Stormi
I haven’t really thought about when I’ll let Stormi wear makeup, but I do know I’ll let her. The question is just when!
9. Blending Foundation and Perfecting Brows
Once I’ve blended out my foundation, I take the same foundation to line the top of my brows, since I did them first. I like to mix my concealers—using one pinkish tone and one beige—because pink cancels out darkness under the eyes. I used to conceal my forehead, but I stopped because I don’t like a cakey forehead look.
10. No Competition with Kim
People often think Kim and I compete, but we actually don’t. We both make completely different products, and we love using each other’s stuff. So, in our opinion, the more makeup, the better!
11. Setting Powder and Bronzer
I use Kim’s setting powder, which is amazing. I also apply a bit of a Chanel product that’s a combination of sunscreen and foundation because sunscreen is important for me. I have naturally fair skin and can’t tan—just burn! Then, I apply bronzer right under my cheekbone and contour my face in a three-motion, blending it out.
12. Baking My Face
Right after contouring, I “bake” my face. Baking helps powder soak into your skin, leaving behind a residue of color. I focus on making the area under my eyes lighter to shape my face. I’ll leave the bake on while I finish the rest of my makeup.
Applying Lip Liner and Lipstick
I apply liquid lip liner, filling in my lips entirely. I could probably do it with my eyes closed! I’m using Nova lipstick today, which I love. Fun fact: I had Kylie Lip Kit trademarked two years before it even launched. When it finally launched, everything sold out in two seconds. That’s when I knew Kylie Cosmetics was going to be huge!
14. Shading Under the Eyes
To complete my eye look, I shade under my eyes again, using a shade called “Alkaline.” It just completes the look for me. I also drag the orange color, “Juicy,” underneath for a brightening effect.
15. Blush: My Favorite Part
Blush is my favorite part of makeup, and today I’m using “Barely Legal” from Kylie Cosmetics. I smile to know where to place it, putting it on my cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. I love blush so much that I just put it all over my face!
Mascara and Highlighter
I use black mascara on my top lashes, even though it’s against lash world rules. I use brown mascara on the bottom because it gives a more subtle look. Then, I apply highlighter, using “Salted Caramel” from Kylie Cosmetics, and blend it in with my fingers for a precise, non-powdery look.
17. Finishing Touches
I try on one of my new glosses, which is fun. Then, I finish my brows with gel. Brow gel doesn’t work for everyone, but it makes me feel amazing. Finally, I spray my face with setting spray. It makes your makeup look better in person and less powdery. Don’t be scared when you drench it—it’ll look better once it dries!
That’s my beat face! Thanks for following along. Bye, guys!
