I’ve always been extremely passionate about makeup, and I’ve done my own makeup so much over the years, so I kind of consider myself like a mini makeup artist.
Must-Have Product
One product I never leave home without would be the K Beauty lip crayon in Billboard. It’s one of my favorite colors, super easy to use, goes with everything, and in case I’m really in a rush and I don’t have anything else with me, I can also use it on my cheeks as blush, a little bit as an eyeshadow, and lip soap.
Morning Beauty Regime
The first part of my beauty regime when I wake up is always drinking at least two to three glasses of something warm, whether it’s ginger in hot water or sometimes lemon and hot water. But that’s something I always do religiously. After that, I try to always start my day with a little bit of stretching and movement, very simple basic yoga movements, and then get into my day.
Key Skincare Tips
One would be diet hydration—at least three layers of water every day, very important for glowing skin. Second would be skin care and skin prep using the right skin care ingredients on your skin, making sure you remove your makeup before sleeping. Removing makeup thoroughly every day is very important. Using a great moisturizer before applying makeup, that’s a must-have. And the third thing I would say is using good quality makeup with ingredients that care for your skin. That’s always been something really important to us at K Beauty. That’s why all of our foundations include products that actually care for your skin, so while you have makeup on your face, you’re also getting used.
Favorite Beauty Hack
One of my favorite beauty hacks is something that I actually got from one of my sisters. So that’s whenever I’m going out for maybe something which is a little more of a dramatic look, I use the kajal pencil or an eye pencil just on the top of your lash line, make that defined line, smudge it, and then lock that with eyeshadow. So I’ll take any eyeshadow brush, use the tap it on the eyeshadow palette, and then press it all along that line, and that just makes it last forever.
Ultimate Beauty Product
If I had to choose one beauty product for the rest of my life, it would be the contour stick because that can also double up as an eyeshadow and a contour.
Beauty Trends
Fast, you know what look? I think it’s going to be making a comeback, and also a look that I really miss is glossy lips. I feel like people don’t use gloss anymore on their lips. I think glossy lips and, yeah, the Y2K kind of look.
2023 Beauty Trends
I think it’s all about minimal dewy skin, smoky eyes, playing up the eyes really delicately but letting it have that kind of sultry sensuous feel, and yes, great glowing skin.
Sources of Inspiration
So for me, I actually get a lot of my inspiration from a lot of the makeup artists that I follow. I’ve always been extremely passionate about makeup, and I’ve done my own makeup so much over the years, so I kind of consider myself like a mini makeup artist. And whenever I’m doing a magazine shoot, there’ll always be lots of discussions about products with whoever’s doing my makeup on that day, which I really enjoy, and I think is where I constantly keep myself up to date with the new trends, the new formulas, the new products, seeing that, following that, seeing what I like, seeing what is looking interesting to me, the kind of makeup tips they use, the different tricks that they use, and I think that’s where I get a lot of my inspiration from.
Camera-Friendly Makeup Trick
A camera-friendly makeup trick that I like to share would be the matte powder compact. Your skin can need to keep your skin a little more matte for camera under the light, so using that on the T-zone on the cheeks is a great trick.
Importance of Removing Makeup
Sleeping with your makeup on to me is the worst thing. I mean, yeah, I can skip sunscreen on and off, but taking off your makeup before sleeping to me is the number one most important rule for skin health, for everything. Actually, yeah, it’s extremely, extremely important.
