Hi everyone! So, my workout is done, and I just took a shower. Since I’ve been seeing so many requests in the comment section, I thought I’d take you guys through my morning skincare routine.

Skincare is Important

Skincare, for me, is actually very, very important. I got majorly into skincare during the pandemic, which is when I really, really almost got obsessed with it. I realized that it really works when you do a proper routine. Since then, I’ve had a skincare routine, which I sometimes rotate, trying different things, testing new products, seeing what works for me and what doesn’t.

Disclaimer

I’m not a dermatologist, so do not blindly follow what I’m doing. But everything I use today is something I have researched, and it has worked for me. This is what works for my skin. Do your own research and try products to see what suits your skin.

Mask Time

I don’t do a mask every single day. I do it once a week, maybe twice, depending on if I have a day off and I’m not working. If I have an important shoot or if my skin doesn’t feel nice, I feel like I need to give it a little extra. Today, since we are doing this video, I’m going to do a mask in the morning.

When I mask, I give my skin everything hydrating—like antioxidants, Vitamin C—everything that’s brightening. I give it in the morning because we are going to be out in the sun, under lights, or doing photoshoots. So, your skin should not be too sensitive. I avoid anything that makes my skin sensitive or prone to sun damage.

Applying the Mask

Because we’re doing a mask, I’m going to get into a headband because I hate when my hair gets wet. I found this really cute bunny headband. It’s kinda cute and keeps my hair back fully.

I use a particular mask that’s my favorite, which has probiotics, Greek yogurt, and stuff like that. But my sister took it, and I tried finding it but couldn’t, so I just called her, and she’s in Jaipur right now. She took my favorite mask, like always! But that’s okay. I have other masks, lots of them.

I washed my face, and there’s nothing on it. My hands are clean. I’m going to start applying this mask, which is creamy. I like using my hands because I feel I can control the pressure, how much I spread it, and I know my hands are clean. Brushes, I don’t know, they may not be as clean.

Since it’s a hydrating mask, I apply it under my eyes and on my neck too. Now, I’ll wait for about 20-30 minutes and let it sink in. Meanwhile, I’ll have some hot water with lemon to hydrate from the inside, which is important. I’ll chill, roam around a bit, maybe play with my dogs, and be back in 30 minutes.

Removing the Mask

It’s been 30 minutes, so let’s get this mask off. I first remove it with a sponge, and then I use a very soft microfiber towel. Microfiber towels are great because they’re not rough and are super soft on the skin. I don’t rub; I just pat it. I don’t make my skin fully dry; I leave it slightly damp because skincare absorbs better on damp skin.

Moving to Hair

These days, I tie my hair in this loop bun, which is my new favorite. It’s somewhere between a ponytail and a bun—like a lazy bun. I make a loop in the last one and leave it. It’s my go-to hairstyle at home now.

Toner Time

Now that my face is still slightly damp, I move to my toner. In skincare, you always go from thin to thick—meaning the more watery products like toners come first, then you move to thicker products like moisturizers, and finally oil. Oil should always be the last step because nothing can penetrate through oil.

I’ve recently started using a new toner that I’ve been using for just three days. It’s got niacinamide, which is Vitamin B. Niacinamide is good for all skin types; it’s brightening, calming, and helps with oil regulation. I normally use a green tea toner, which is also hydrating and brightening.

Applying Vitamin C

The next thing I use is Vitamin C. I never miss this in the morning. My morning skincare routine doesn’t change much. Vitamin C is brightening, hydrating, and full of antioxidants. It also helps your SPF work better, so it’s a great addition to any routine. I just apply it and pat it into my skin.

Don’t forget your eyelids! Most people do, but eyelids sag first if not moisturized. That’s why they start sagging. I don’t use too much in the morning because I don’t like feeling sticky or heavy.

Moisturizer & SPF

Next, I use a moisturizing sunscreen. I prefer using a product that combines moisturizer and SPF in one because I don’t like layering too much. This sunscreen is very hydrating and has ceramides, which are proteins and amino acids that help build the skin. If I’m staying home, I use this. If I’m going out, I mix it with a tinted sunscreen.

Including peptides or ceramides in your daily routine is very good because it boosts collagen and elastin, which gives your skin elasticity. I also apply it on my neck and chest area because these areas age too and get dry.

Finishing with Lip Balm

The last step is lip balm because I hate dry lips. I apply a nice layer of it. Here’s a little trick: if you have leftover lip balm, just put it around your crow’s feet area. Petroleum jelly acts as a seal, preventing water loss. I usually do this at night, but since I’m at home today, I’ll do it now.

And I’m done! I like keeping it simple and minimalistic, nothing too complicated, especially in the morning. My night skincare routine is a bit more complicated, and it changes depending on how my skin feels and what I did the previous day. I keep experimenting with my nighttime skincare routine.

Final Tip: Don’t Skip SPF

Don’t miss your SPF! Sunscreen is extremely important because sun damage is very hard to reverse in the long run.

That’s my morning skincare routine. I hope you guys liked it. If you did, like, share, and subscribe. Also, let me know what other videos you’d like to see because this was fun!
