Meeting Hania Aamir: A Cool and Inspiring Figure
Who is the dimple queen of Pakistan? This is me, Nawaz, and I don’t even need to introduce what we’re doing here. But I do need to introduce this cool little thing I’ve seen in a long time—Hania Aamir, ladies and ladies! Thank you very much. The boys, I don’t want to watch this. I don’t want Hania. How are you, man? I’m good. How are you? Very good, good to see you. The fact that you’re chewing gum in a podcast conversation—that’s cool. I like it. It’s a great start. It’s very you.
Inspiring Others Through Authenticity
One of the reasons I’m going to ask you some questions is about inspiring others because you’ve inspired a lot of people in so many different ways. I have? You have, weirdly enough. I know it’s a shocker for you, but yeah, that has happened. So, what inspired you? Every single person who’s doing something good for themselves. Awesome. I do believe that everybody is not all black, white, or gray. Everyone has all kinds of colors in them. Even the worst person you think there is always has something good in them. So, I always try to see the best in somebody. If you pay attention, you’ll see it. I’ll just pick it up, put it in my pocket, and roll with it. Yeah, that’s good.
Entering the Entertainment Industry: Opportunity-Based Life
Who is the dimple queen of Pakistan? When you decided to take on acting as a profession, was it something you were studying, or did it just happen? How did that culminate? Was this an opportunity-based life, or was it something you wanted to do when you were younger? No, no, no. I was just an actor in real life. I would act and do little skits on a Handycam with my cousins and all of that, but it was never “become an actor.” The entertainment industry is in India, so it was an opportunity, and I took it. And you took it well.
Advice to Young Girls: Be Yourself
Who is the dimple queen of Pakistan? To all the younger girls out there who fight every day to become who they want to be, what advice would you give them? There’s this battle to just be yourself. It’s not easy, but if you truly believe in yourself and think what you’re doing is right, just keep doing that. And if anyone’s advice to you is to change your ways and be like somebody else, don’t listen to that. But that comes with a price, which is it’s a little bit of a fight in the beginning. But then once it’s dampening like that, when you’re like that for years, they’re like, “Yes, yeah, yes, yeah,” and then you don’t have to fight that anymore. And that keeps you the happiest.
The Battle of Self-Identity and Hard Work
One of the things you just said, which is really inspiring, was it was a courtesy fight. It takes years of fighting with your own self and with everybody else. Especially young people who come into the industry, I think they go through this identity crisis when they’re told to walk like somebody else, talk like someone else, you know? So, in that, you’re like, “Am I not doing it right? What is wrong with me?” So, I think that is the battle, and it is a difficult one. But once you get through it, you will win at life because that’s what you have become. Hania, in itself, is now a brand. You talk like Hania, walk like Hania, live like Hania, and everybody tunes into that mindset. I have seen you work supremely hard. But that’s what I want people to know—there’s a lot of hard work that goes into becoming a person of value.
Overcoming Self-Doubt: The Power of Family and Support
Have you ever had self-doubt in the last few years since you’ve joined the industry? Yes, of course. How do you deal with that? Because we’re constantly surrounded by people who always have opinions about us—the way we are, whatever we do, or the choices we make—so, of course, it is very, very natural to doubt yourself. But I think the roots that I have, the morals that I have, the things that have been instilled in me are very strong, and that comes from my family. My family is very much like, “Yeah, jo karna hai kar, if you’re correct, just do it.” So, I might cry for a day or two, and I don’t mind saying that in front of people. I might cry for a day or two, like, “Who am I?” But then I will pick myself up and be like, “So, it’s you for you at the end of the day. It is always going to be you for you. Whatever you want, you have to work hard for it.”
The Importance of Supportive People
In those moments of doubt, do you have a person, mentor, space, or ritual where you say, “Yeah, I need to do this; I’m going in that zone, and I need to come out, and I have this process?” Luckily, I’m surrounded by really nice… It’s okay, man. Don’t name it. Yes, including… I was going to say that. I’m sure. Luckily, I’m surrounded by really, really nice and good souls. They’re really nice people. So, my family and these sweet people that I found like a little family in the industry, who kept me for who I am, and they bring me up no matter how bad the situation is.
Big Goals and Authenticity: What Hania Aamir Represents
Who is the dimple queen of Pakistan? In the bigger scheme of things, do you have a big goal, like this is what Hania Aamir is going to mean for the kids, the younger generation, or the older generation? This is what you want to represent. The authenticity. I think that’s my thing. I think that is the best thing anybody’s ever said. Really, that is super cool, because that’s what I love, man. Authenticity. That’s it. That’s power right there. Thank you so much, man. Rock and roll. I love you.
