Hi, it’s Addison Rae! I’m back again for another Beauty Secrets, and I’m so happy to be here. Today, I’m sharing my updated skincare and makeup routine. Let’s dive in!

Sensitive Skin Journey

I’m starting with a Milky Cleanser. I have really sensitive skin and have been breaking out a lot recently. Whenever I use products I’m not used to, it gets really scary. My skincare routine has changed a lot over the last few years as I’ve grown up, and my skin has adjusted and become more sensitive. Makeup artists would use different products on my face, and it would really irritate my skin. So, I’ve simplified my routine. Last time, I used like 100 products, but not anymore!

Toning and Hydration

Next, I’m going to use this toner. I’m almost out of it, but I spray that all over. I also always like to have multiple drinks on me, and I just spilled more coffee [laughs]. Now, I’m using my favorite hairbrush. I’m not sure how to pronounce the brand, but it’s amazing.

Skincare Routine Simplified

I’ll follow that with Detox by Rebecca cream. This is one thing that doesn’t break me out, which is great because sometimes after a night out, even if I’ve had one drink (like one glass of wine), I wake up hungover. I’m the biggest lightweight! My face gets puffy in the morning, and Rebecca showed me how to do a lymphatic massage. I use little cups to lift my face and move the water around.

Getting Into Running

I’ve been running a lot lately, which is new for me. It helps clear my mind. I do an intense bootcamp class where you can only think about surviving the workout. It’s really helpful for starting my day with a clear head.

Sunscreen and Lip Hydration

Next, I’m applying sunscreen – this one is from Fenty. Then, I use Summer Fridays to hydrate my lips.

Makeup Essentials: Lipstick Always First

Moving on to makeup, I don’t wake up in the morning without putting on this lipstick. I love Lisa Eldridge Velvet Enchantment; it’s the perfect color for me. I usually use it to give my lips and cheeks a little blush. That’s my wake-up makeup routine.

A Night Out with Friends

Whenever I go out, like when I attended Charli’s birthday party, I jazz it up a little. I watched her Vogue Beauty Secrets a few years ago, and she had an amazing eyeliner look. It inspired me to try something fun with my makeup.

Addison Rae's Beauty Secrets:

Becoming Friends with Charli XCX

Charli and I became friends through working together a few years ago. She did 2 Die 4 first, then asked me to do the Von Dutch Remix. It was such an honor because she’s an amazing artist with powerful and exciting ideas.

“Diet Pepsi” Music Collaboration

With my song “Diet Pepsi,” I played it for Charli before it was even finished, and she gave me so much confidence in it. It felt magical, and I couldn’t wait to release it. When people love it, it feels amazing, but if they don’t, it doesn’t bother me anymore. I believe everything comes full circle.

Setting Powder and Brows

I use Fenty Beauty’s setting powder to keep my oily skin in place. Then, I just brush my eyebrows. Nothing too crazy!

Music Video Inspiration

For the “Diet Pepsi” video, we drew inspiration from the ’50s and ’60s film noir and Bruce Conner’s “Breakaway.” There were also Russ Meyer influences in the visuals.

Working with Pat McGrath

I recently had the chance to work with Pat McGrath for the VMAs. She’s such a light! For my everyday look, I use her eyeliner and mascara, mixing in a bit of blue to make it smoky. Lately, I’ve kept my makeup simple to reflect where I am in life. Simplicity is key.

A Timeless Look

I’m all about keeping it timeless and natural. My staple look is a blushy cheek and pink lips. It took time to get comfortable with my skin, but now I accept it for what it is. Sometimes you break out, and that’s okay.

Addison Rae's Beauty Secrets:

Following My Heart

Over the past few years, I’ve started following my heart. Growth is a testament to not being afraid to experiment. Even when people say you should only stick to one thing, I believe in doing everything that inspires you. Creating brings me joy.

Makeup Inspiration: Marilyn Monroe and Madonna

Marilyn Monroe is a makeup inspiration for me, especially for red lips. Madonna’s Erotica era also had incredible makeup looks. If I want more makeup, I add a bit under my eyes and on my cheeks.

Music Inspires My Makeup

I love listening to music while doing my makeup. If I’m inspired by Madonna, I’ll listen to her music to get in the zone.

Finishing Touches

I finish with body lotion from CYKLAR. That’s my day-to-night makeup progression. And of course, I usually end with sunglasses before heading out!

That’s my beauty routine – hope you enjoyed it!
